Set beneath the Tortolita Mountains, Desert Canyon Hacienda is a desert-contemporary residence designed to be in conversation with the Sonoran landscape. Sanctuary Custom Construction built the home around its site, framing the surrounding desert through walls of glass and bringing the outdoors into everyday life.

The 2.01-acre lot offered sweeping views and a dramatic desert backdrop, and the design took cues from both. Site-specific planning positioned the home to capture mountain and desert vistas while respecting the natural grade and character of the land. This desert integration defines Sanctuary's work in Southern Arizona.

Across 3,420 square feet, the residence balances architectural restraint with warmth. Expansive windows blur the line between interior and desert, while multiple fireplaces give the living spaces a sense of intimacy. Three bedrooms and three full and two half baths give the home room to host without giving up privacy.

A custom pool extends the living space into the open air, creating seamless indoor-outdoor access. Shaded gathering areas and framed desert views make the outdoors an everyday retreat.

From the first concept to move-in — a build that unfolded over roughly a year and a half — Sanctuary managed the design and construction as a single, coordinated process.
